After careful consideration, in light of the increased demand for air cargo capacity and the increased costs to maintain service during this emergency situation, UPS has decided to implement a global temporary peak surcharge.
Effective April 12 and until further notice, a temporary peak surcharge will apply to any pre-paid air service shipments originating from Canada to all international destinations and any import shipments coming into and invoiced in Canada (e.g. import freight collect shipments)*.
The temporary peak surcharge will be based on a rate per kilogram or pound, and is in addition to all existing rates, charges, surcharges and fees. It applies on the following service levels: UPS Worldwide Express®¹, UPS Worldwide Expedited® and UPS Worldwide Express Freight®².

As an exception to the above, a different peak surcharge for shipments originating in mainland China and Hong Kong SAR that are destined for and invoiced in Canada, will apply instead of the rates shown above.
Effective April 6th, 2020, FedEx will implement the following new surcharge for FedEx Express services.

Effective April 1st 2020, DHL has temporarily and until further notice levied an Emergency Situation Surcharge to all Time Definite International (TDI) shipments.
This Emergency Situation Surcharge will allow DHL to cover part of the operating cost increases and the necessary air network adjustments during the time of this emergency situation.
